Straitjacket took place in the midst of an urban wilderness hidden in the heart of Cyprus’s capital, Nicosia. Behind the bushes, out of view, the engines of cars in never-ending traffic jams roar; oligarchs enjoy the benefits of a tax haven here, and foreign embassies are located here. The costume, made from traffic cones, weighed about 20 kg, and moving around in it added a very intense dimension to the entire performance, because I was alone in the swamp the whole time. It address the paradoxes of anthropocene, dialogue between natural chaos in which we were born contra technocratic world with strict rules and restrictions which we live in anthropocene.
