Urban Disobedience Toolkit won The Best Film Award at Blidnwalls Festival Breda 2026! Excerpt from the jury’s speech:
We loved each of these film, genuinely, but in thinking about the winner, we had to take a step back from ourselves, from aesthetics, from convention and from safety. We live in a world which on the outside, looks more open and free than ever, but deep down, there is recession into conformity, a world in which tech giants and billionaires are seizing control and curtailing our freedoms, where the gap between have and have not grows further by the day.
In thinking about how we understand the role of art, beyond inflated markets and prestigious institutions, it serves as a vehicle for change and one film functions as a blueprint for small acts of controlled chaos, rather than presenting to us, inviting us in as participants, an open inviation to hack the city and engage with the physical world, rather than perform for the digital one.
Our winner for the Blind Walls Film Festival 2026 is Vladimir Turner’s Urban Disobedence Toolkit.
