-FUTURE OF THE WHEEL- Transport is a big environmental issue in Slovakia, but also around the world. The exhibition The Future of the Wheel focuses on several areas that identify the problems of personal, especially car, transportation. At the same time, artists present solutions: promoting of public transport, cycling and highlighting walking as a natural human movement. The Future of the Wheel relates to the further advancement of human mobility. Pro naše úspěchy, pohodlí a stroje měníme krajinu vzdálenou i blízkou. S vtipem, ironií a někdy až drzým úšklebkem komentuje současný stav umělec Vladimír Turner. Vladimír Turner patří mezi výrazné představitele nastupující umělecké generace. Jeho tvorba zahrnuje filmy, instalace, performance a intervence do veřejného prostoru a zabývá se socio-politickými tématy jako udržitelnost a urbanismus. Jeho díla byla prezentována ve Francii, Německu, Austrálii, Brazílii, Rusku, Kyrgyzstánu, Itálii, Portugalsku, Moldavsku, Španělsku, na Slovensku a napříč Českou republikou, kde získala řadu ocenění. Na tomto ročníku multižánrového festivalu Luhovaný Vincent budu mít site-specific instalaci s názvem BIO(Greenwashing). Lokace: trávník před Hotelem Jestřabí,  L. Janáčka 238. Text kurátora Jakuba Franka: Ať už jde o videa a filmy, objekty, instalace, intervence ve veřejném prostoru nebo performance, je Vladimírova tvorba prostoupena reakcemi na problematická společenská témata a kritikou globálního konzumně orientovaného světa. Jeho poslední práci BIO (Greenwashing) můžeme v kontextu festivalu vnímat jako jakýsi pomník současnému zelenému pokrytectví. Není totiž důležité, jak je kdo šetrný k životnímu prostředí, ale kdo to o sobě hlasitěji říká, respektive, kdo to dokáže dráže prodat. → more

My work „Practical Use“ is a part of new book by Igor Ponosov. The book „Art and the City“ describes the main directions and trends in the development of street art from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. The publication, which was released in 2016, became the first book in Russian that claims to be a complete analysis of the global phenomenon of street art, which includes the global context and the situation in Russia. The second edition is supplemented by coverage of events after 2016. The book also includes several monologues from the pioneers of the street art scene, based on interviews with the author. In addition, the publication has significantly expanded the part about the New York graffiti scene, added a description of border street practices at the intersection of art, urbanism and activism. The chapter on Russian street art has also been substantially expanded. Igor Ponosov is a curator and theorist of street art, at the same time he is a practicing artist, and this position allows him to observe the processes from the inside, which is why many aspects in the book are interpreted critically, sometimes even emotionally, reflecting the personal involvement of the author. → more
