The documentary is mapping the unique history of the Czech illegal techno-scene and its D.I.Y. culture, which didn’t have any equivalent on its scale in Europe. It is also a reflection of the Czech 90’s.
Dokument mapuje unikátní vývoj české ilegální technoscény a hnutí DIY, který jinde v Evropě v takovém měřítku neměl obdoby je zároveň i reflexí českých devadesátých let.

At the beginning of the 90’s in Great Britain and France the police were repressively intervening against the squatting and free party scene. The techno-scene reacted by moving to the East. After the fall of the Iron Curtain in Europe almost anything was possible because the authorities were still not sure what to allow and what to prohibit. When the sound systems Spiral Tribe, Mutant Waste Company and others in 1994 came across the border in their painted vans, they met the remains of the Red Army. The techno people bought a fighter from the Soviets and an underground transporter which they turned into an original techno vehicle. Because they gained contacts for squatters from Prague’s Ladronka and Cibulka and figures of the Czechoslovak underground, they headed to the capital city. In 1994 in Hostomice, near Prague the first edition of the Czech “freetekno” festival took place. From the perspective of the local alternative culture, which was until then influenced mainly by the “bigbeat wombles”, punks or metalheads, the invasion of nomadic techno-hippies who could unpack their own festival anywhere seemed like an arrival of a UFO. The first free techno party in Hostomice and its continuation in Libeň influenced a lot of people who decided to create their own Czech sound systems. The Russian fighter was placed at Ivan Martin Jirous in Stará Říša, where it was being covered in moss for the next event. These summer free parties were later called “Czechtek”. The film uses period footage which is mostly unknown to public, but also the memories of people who were behind the independent musical and cultural movement.
Na začátku devadesátých let ve Velké Británii a ve Francii policie represivně zasahuje proti squatterům a free parties. Tekno scéna se posouvá na východ. Ve východní Evropě je po pádu železné opony možné téměř vše, protože nově se ustanovující státní moc si ještě není jistá, co povolit a co zakázat. Když sound systémy Spiral Tribe, Mutant Waste Company a další v roce 1994 přejíždějí v pomalovaných dodávkách české hranice, potkávají zbytky balící se rudé armády. Technaři kupují od Sovětů stíhačku a pozemní transportér, který předělají na originální technovozítko. Protože získali kontakty na squattery z pražské Ladronky a Cibulky a na postavy československého undergroundu, míří do hlavního města. V roce 1994 je v Hostomicích u Prahy uspořádán první český „freetekno“ festival. Z pohledu tuzemské alternativní kultury, která do té doby znala hlavně „bigbíťácké máničky“, pankáče nebo metaláky, se zdá invaze nomádských techno-hippies, kteří kdekoliv pod širým nebem rozbalí svůj vlastní festival, jako přílet UFO. První free techno party v Hostomicích a její pokračování v Libni ovlivní spoustu lidí, kteří se rozhodnou založit vlastní, české sound systémy. Ruská stíhačka je umístěna u Ivana Martina Jirouse ve Staré říši, kde obrůstá mechem až do další akce. Tyto letní freeparty později budou označovány jako „Czechtek“. Snímek těží z unikátních dobových záznamů, z nichž většina byla dosud veřejnosti neznámá, i ze vzpomínek lidí, kteří stáli u zrodu tohoto svébytného hudebního a kulturního směru.
