ČESKY

Film se skládá ze čtyř kapitol, z nichž je každá kritickým komentářem k současnému městu. Problémy, na které tvůrce obvykle ukazuje ve svých umělecko- aktivistických projektech tentokrát komentuje více poetickou a osobní formou. COMMENTS ON MEGAPOLIS si bere na mušku čtyři hlavní témata: třídní/ rasovou klasifikaci, restrikce/sledování pohybu po městě, urbanismus/ spekulace s městkým prostorem, znečišťování životního prostředí. Umění ve veřejném prostoru/ intimní performance spojil Turner videoartovými postupy v jeden větší celek, kdy stál jak před, tak i za kamerou. Film vznikl na jaře 2014 během umělecké residence v het Wilde Weten v Rotterdamu.

ENGLISH

The film consists of four chapters, each of which is a critical commentary on the contemporary city. Problems which the creator usually shows in his art/ activist projects in public space are this time captured in more poetic, abstract and personal form. COMMENTS ON MEGAPOLIS takes aim at four main topics: the class/ racial classification, restrictions / monitoring people’s life in the city, urbanism/ speculation with public space, pollution of the environment. Vladimír Turner was standing in front and also behind the camera, and created intimate but also political series of performances which are edited in a greater whole piece of videoart. The film was made in the spring of 2014 during the art residency at Het Wilde Weten in Rotterdam.
