Hollow cork tree trunks, PU foam, traffic stand

An object responding to the conflict between old and new technologies. Sustainability, craftsmanship, instantaneity, ephemerality, locality. The trunks come from Portugal, where most of the cork products in Europe originate. Due to its characteristics, cork is to some extent non-flammable. Every year there are devastating massive forest fires in Portugal, in which ecalyptus plantations planted for quick financial returns burn.
